8 celebrities who had bizarre objects thrown at them during concerts

From David Bowie to Cardi B, these performers were at the receiving end of some strange objects thrown at them during concerts

While hurling unsolicited objects at performers has always been a part of concert culture, the unwelcome practice has now become more frequent. Many performers have found themselves at the receiving end of bizarre objects thrown at them - from chicken nuggets to living bats!

Harry Styles

Harry Styles has become the victim of objects thrown on stage more than anyone can imagine. In July 2023, he was hit in the eye with an unidentified object during a concert in Vienna. Previously, Skittles were thrown at him during a performance in Los Angeles last year, and chicken nuggets made their way on stage during a concert at New York’s Madison Square Garden, per Variety.

Bebe Rexha

In June 2023, Bebe Rexha too became the victim of objects thrown on stage. During a concert in New York City, “a 27-year-old male intentionally threw a cell phone” at Rexha which left the songstress with a black eye, per Variety.

Drake

July 2023 saw multiple instances of objects being hurled at celebrities. During Drake’s ‘It’s All a Blur’ tour stop in Chicago, the ‘Certified Lover Boy’ singer was hit by a cell phone in the arm. Drake remained unperturbed and continued to perform the cover of Ginuwine’s ‘So Anxious’, per New York Post.

Cardi B

During a July 2023, concert in Las Vegas, when Cardi was halfway through her 2018 hit ‘Bodak Yellow’, an audience member threw a cup filled with a drink at the singer. Baffled and angered by the audience member’s action, the ‘Up’ singer threw her mic aiming at the perpetrator.

Ozzy Osbourne

Prince of Darkness Ozzy Osbourne had a life-defining moment when he chomped on the head of a bat tossed by a fan on the stage during a concert of his 1982 ‘Diary of a Madman’ tour, prompting him to write in his memoir, "I didn't just go and eat a . . . bat, did I?" per Insider.

David Bowie

David Bowie had a narrow escape while performing at the Norwegian Wood Festival in Oslo in June 2004. In a bizarre incident, when an audience member threw a half-sucked lollipop at the singer, the stick end of it got stuck between his left eye and eyelid. He was reportedly found saying, "Yeah, let's do that again all-f***ing-right," before continuing, "Where are you, creep? Yeah, I guess it's easier to get lost in the crowd, you bastard," per Far Out Magazine.

Sebastian Bach

The lead singer of the heavy metal band ‘Skid Row’ Sebastian Bach was attacked by a glass bottle while he was opening for Aerosmith in 1989. But Bach went the Cardi way and threw the glass bottle back at the audience. As the bottle hit the wrong person, he was later arrested for assault and had to pay a large cash settlement in the "half-a-million-dollar range,” per Insider.

Motley Crue

Harry Styles is not the only celebrity to have chicken thrown at him, except it was a live bird in this instance. During a concert of the heavy metal band Motley Crue’s ‘Theatre of Pain’ in 1985, the band members had a live chicken thrown at them. However, per Insider, it was one of the band members who threw the chicken first into the audience, only for the crowd to throw it back onto the stage.
