BUCHAREST, ROMANIA: TikTok influencers Nicky Champa and Pierre Boo announced their divorce recently. Andrew Tate, who is the self-proclaimed "king of masculinity" made a homophobic remark after receiving the news of the gay couple's divorce.

Boo and Champa had been together since 2017 and got married in August 2022. The couple recently decided to part ways. Tate's views on the couple's divorce have left the internet divided.

'So incredibly haram'

A Twitter user shared the news of Boo and Champa's separation. The tweet read, "TikTok couple Pierre Boo and Nicky Champa announce they are divorcing." This news gained the attention of many social media users, including Tate.

Reacting to the news, Tate wrote, "So incredibly haram." "Haram" is an Arabic word that means "forbidden" and can apply to either unsacred or immoral behaviors in Islam.

Tate's reaction to the news divided the internet. Many users took to social media to respond to Tate's tweet. "The anti gay s**t is kinda cringe ngl," one person said, referring to Tate.

Another user supported Tate's view and said, "This is layered Haram activities."

One user commented, "Marriage is a union between man, woman and god. These people can have marriage on a paper, but that’s not what this is. God is not going to put himself in a relationship with two men."

"Attention-seeking femme boys is the result of no strong male guidance," an user added.

'Our relationship became a brand'

Champa recently acknowledged their split in an exclusive interview with Out magazine (dedicated to the LGBTQ+ community). He said, "With social media, it’s a bit complicated. Our relationship became a brand."

"I want to say I have nothing but love and respect for this person. I spent my entire twenties with this person. I grew up with this person. He's a very special person and will always remain that way for me," he added.

Champa also revealed that the nine-year age difference with ex-husband Boo was a big role in the relationship's demise. Champa is 27 years old, whereas Boo is 36. Champa said that their relationship was constantly tested since they were social media stars.
