Bruce Willis' family worried about his daughter Tallulah's mental health as actor's condition worsens

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The health challenges faced by Bruce Willis and Demi Moore's youngest daughter, Tallulah, are causing strain within their family, according to Radar Online's sources. Tallulah, who has battled with mental health issues including anorexia and depression, went through a traumatic period after her fiance Dillon Buss ended their relationship. This occurred shortly after Bruce revealed his own struggle with a degenerative brain condition.

Bruce Willis, who is dealing with frontotemporal dementia, observed his daughter's deteriorating condition and felt helpless in the face of her suffering. The family became increasingly concerned about the impact Tallulah's mental health struggles, including her dangerously low weight of 84 pounds, would have on Bruce's declining condition.

The source revealed that Bruce was devastated by witnessing Tallulah's pain, which led the family to consider keeping them apart to protect both of their well-being. This decision was made with the understanding that their interaction could potentially worsen their respective mental health challenges.

From ‘Oh wow!’ to ‘Are you okay?’

Following her breakup, Tallulah voluntarily entered an inpatient facility where she was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. Meanwhile, Dr Carole Lieberman, a forensic psychiatrist who has not personally treated Bruce or Tallulah, has suggested that their mental states may not be conducive to each other's healing process.

In a personal essay for Vogue, Tallulah opened up about her battle with body dysmorphia, which was exacerbated when she started taking medication for ADHD.

“I felt smart for the first time,” Tallulah said about taking her medication. “But I also started to enjoy the appetite-suppressant side effects of the meds. I saw a way to banish the awkward adolescent in favor of a flighty little pixie. And like so many people with eating disorders, my sense of myself went haywire.”

“There’s an unhealthy deliciousness at the beginning of losing weight rapidly,” she explained. “People are like, ‘Oh wow!’ And then quickly it turns to, ‘Are you okay?’ My friends and family were terrified, and I dismissed it.” “By the spring of 2022, I weighed about 84 lbs,” Tallulah recalled. “I was always freezing. I was calling mobile IV teams to come to my house, and I couldn’t walk in my Los Angeles neighborhood because I was afraid of not having a place to sit down and catch my breath.” Recognizing the urgency of the situation, Tallulah's family intervened and arranged for her to receive the necessary assistance by admitting her to a facility in Texas.

The importance of self-love

Tallulah expressed her realization that her desire for harmony within her family outweighed her pursuit of body acceptance. She understood that having an emaciated body would only add to her loved ones' burdens and embraced the opportunity to seek recovery.

She spoke about her determination to rebuild her relationship with her family, particularly her father, Bruce. Tallulah emphasized her commitment to recovery, acknowledging that it may be a lifelong journey. However, she now possesses the necessary tools to be fully present in all aspects of her life, including her connection with her father.

In an interview with Vogue in June, Tallulah shared her growth and newfound ability to show up for her family and be relied upon. She expressed her joy in being able to cherish moments with her father, holding his hand and feeling a genuine sense of wonder. She emphasized the significance of self-love as a foundation for fostering healthy relationships with others, emphasizing its real and transformative power.
