'Every minute matters': Ashley Graham recalls 'crying' over flight delay that hampered her time with children

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK CITY: Ashley Graham is us! The body-positive speaker shared a recent incident where a flight delay left her in tears.

Talking at an event in New York City, the mother-of-three said, “It was a journey getting home from L.A. and it took way longer than it should have,” as per People.

She added, “My flight kept on getting delayed and delayed and then eventually, canceled.”

Graham revealed that though her family managed to stay “cool, calm and collected” amid the delay, she "started to spiral."

Ashley Graham shares why she got emotional over a flight delay

Graham reportedly got emotional because she had only "one day" to see her children. And a flight delay would hamper her time with them.

She said, “I started crying. I knew I only had one day to see [my kids]. And as a mom, when you're planning out your time to see your children, every minute matters.”

Why did Ashley Graham miss out on US Open?

Graham revealed that she had planned to support local star Coco Gauff in lifting the US Open Women’s Singles trophy in New York City, but decided to stay home with her children.

“It's little tiny sacrifices you make,” she said. “I would've loved to have seen Coco [Gauff] win in person, but we can always watch on TV,” she continues.

Graham shares how important it is for her to “soak every moment in,” as her children grow.

“It's so sad,” she begins. “It's sad because I want to hold one like a baby and rock it, and they're like ‘No, no, no.’ You're warned as a mother to cherish it now because it's not going to last forever."

She further added, "I always look at those people and roll my eyes. But everybody's right. It goes by so fast.”

At the same time, Graham feels glad that she can witness them turn into a person with unique personalities.

“But what I am really grateful for is that every stage of their lives is so fun and so different that it doesn't matter,” she said.

“Once we're graduating one stage, we hop to another and it's just a different kind of experience and fun.”

Graham also admitted that managing three young ones is never easy.

She said, “They're so different. I tell them all the time, you're just brothers born at the same time. You're not twins. They're just not alike. So I've got three very distinctly different personalities in the home.”

She added, “It's a lot. I'm juggling them and my career and being married. And it's like every day you just have to pray and have your peace and then you can get through it.”

Graham shares her 3-year-old son Isaac and twins Malachi and Roman, 2, with cinematographer husband Justin Ervin.
