Britney Spears shocked the world when she shaved her head back in 2007, and now she has revealed why she did it. The then-26-year-old's dramatic makeover made headlines around the world at the time and the images of Spears shaving her head from a Los Angeles hair salon remain an infamous pop culture moment. Now, 16 years on, the 'Baby One More Time' singer has opened up in her new memoir The Woman in Me about how her decision behind the transformation was in response to the tabloid scrutiny she has dealt with from a young age. “I’d been eyeballed so much growing up. I’d been looked up and down, had people telling me what they thought of my body, since I was a teenager,” she told People. “Shaving my head and acting out were my ways of pushing back." From 2008, Spears was under a court-mandated conservatorship which her father Jamie Spears was in charge of and this meant the pop star didn't have control over certain matters in her life such as her personal and financial affairs. “Under the conservatorship I was made to understand that those days were now over,” she wrote. “I had to grow my hair out and get back into shape. I had to go to bed early and take whatever medication they told me to take.” Spears was under the conservatorship for 13 years. Jamie was removed as her conservator in September 2021 before it was completely lifted in November 2021, following the singer's plea to a judge to end the ruling as she declared: "I want my life back." In celebration of the conservatorship ending, Spears was pictured holding a glass of champagne and in the post wrote: "I’m celebrating my freedom and my B day for the next two months." “I mean after 13 years…I think I’ve waited long enough. I’m so happy my lawyer Mathew Rosengart came into my life when he did… he has truly turned my life around… I’m forever thankful for that.” Elsewhere, the 41-year-old also claimed in her memoir that she fell pregnant during her three-year relationship with fellow superstar Justin Timberlake. Jake Paul has opened up about why he has not publicly defended his brother Logan Paul amid his beef with Dillon Danis who has been sharing crass images of Nina Agdal, Paul's fiance. The bad blood between social media personality turned boxer Logan Paul and mixed martial artist Danis comes as the pair are due to fight in Manchester in October. Being dragged into the feud is Logan’s supermodel partner, who has found herself trending on Twitter after speculation that she was featured in a leaked X-rated video. However, further investigations suggested it was not her in the clip. Danis also insulted Agdal on X/Twitter, writing: “Told Logan to his face he’s marrying a sl*t and he didn’t do s**t about it.” Jake Paul, who is also a YouTuber-turned-boxer, has finally opened up about the beef between his brother and the fighter. In a video posted on his Instagram stories, Jake responded to those who have claimed he has been a “bad brother” to Logan amid the ongoing feud. Jake said: “People are saying, ‘Jake, you haven’t come to your brother’s defence’… like, defence of what? Logan is going to knock the f**king s**t out of this kid, that’s all that matters. “The rest is just sales for the fight, making the fight bigger, and making my brother more money. Defence of somebody over little, widdle, bitty tweets? Like, bro, we’re grown men here. We’ve seen so much worse than this. So, Logan doesn’t need my help defending anything.” Logan and Danis are due to fight on 14 October in Manchester, which will be on the same card as KSI vs. Tommy Fury. MrBeast, besides being the most followed creator on YouTube, has now added a further accolade to his social media resume by becoming the most followed person on Threads in a staggeringly quick time as well as taking a swipe at Elon Musk in the process. Jimmy ‘MrBeast’ Donaldson, quickly amassed more than one million followers (2.8 million at the time of writing) on the new social media app created by Mark Zuckerberg's Meta, which was launched late on July 5th. Donaldson actually has more followers than Zuckerberg who still has an impressive 2 million followers to his name. However, Donaldson was the first person on the platform to reach one million therefore the record will always stand with him. Much of this record will be down to how easy it is for Instagram users to sign up for Threads which also allows users to easily follow everyone that they already followed on Instagram. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter MrBeast, for instance, has 38.6 million followers on Instagram so expect his Threads followers total to grow and grow in the next few days. His first Thread on the platform read: "Sooooo, how long until we're also addicted to this app? Lol." He did though appear to take a thinly veiled dig at Twitter owner Elon Musk. In one post the 25-year-old wrote: "To celebrate Threads launching, I'm gonna give this Tesla to a random follower in 48 hours. Rethread so people are aware." Donaldson then posted a picture of himself next to the Tesla in question which had a huge Threads logo on the bonnet. For those that aren't aware, Elon Musk also owns Tesla and might not be too happy about seeing a rivals logo on one of his cars. There doesn't appear to be any bad blood between Musk and Donaldson as the two have previously teased a collaboration on Twitter.
