Will Smith breaks silence after Jada Pinkett Smith’s relationship revelation
Will Smith has broken his silence after Jada Pinkett Smith made a bombshell revelation about their relationship last week. Ahead of her memoir Worthy, Jada revealed to Hoda Kotb on Today that she and Will hadn't been together for seven years – they just simply never divorced. Jada told the host that she "made a promise that there will never be a reason for us to get a divorce" and that the pair will "work through whatever". "I just haven't been able to break that promise," she said. Jada went on to confirm that she and Will also live separately, and when asked how the two maintained the arrangement, she responded: "I think just not being ready yet." She also added that they are "still trying to figure out" how to be a partnership and how to explain that to people. EXCLUSIVE: Jada Pinkett Smith reveals she and Will Smith have been separated since 2016 www.youtube.com The star then discussed to infamous Oscar slap, when Will assaulted Chris Rock after the comedian jokingly called Jada "G.I. Jane". But, there was one small detail that shocked her even more than the incident itself. "First of all, I’m really shocked, because mind you, I’m not there. We haven’t called each other husband and wife in a long time," she said. "I’m like, ‘What is going on right now? Keep my wife’s name out of your mouth?’ I’m really worried for Will because I don’t know what’s going on." Will has since opened up about the revelations from Jada's new book, calling her more "resilient, clever and compassionate than he’d understood". "When you’ve been with someone for more than half of your life a sort of emotional blindness sets in, and you can all too easily lose your sensitivity to their hidden nuances and subtle beauties," he told The New York Times. ExorSwift: Taylor Swift fans denied Exorcist double bill following changes
ExorSwift: Taylor Swift fans denied Exorcist double bill following changes
The Exorcist: Believer was originally meant to be released in cinemas on October 13, but this has since been changed after Taylor Swift announced her Eras Tour concert film will also be on the same Friday. We almost had Exorswift - an autumn sequel to our Barbenheimer summer but alas, the horror movie that is a highly anticipated direct sequel to the 1973 original classic by William Friedkin will now be out in cinemas a week earlier on October 6. This change comes in order to avoid having the same release as Swift's film which she recently announced on Instagram. "The Eras Tour has been the most meaningful, electric experience of my life so far," the singer wrote on social media and also added that "Eras attire, friendship bracelets, singing and dancing [are] encouraged." In response, The Exorcist: Believer producer Jason Blum shared news of the release date change, with a nod to Swift's song 'Look What You Made Me Do," from the 2017 album reputation. "Look what you made me do. The Exorcist: Believer moves to 10/6/23. #TaylorWins," he tweeted. It appears that The Exorcist: Believer release date change will happen in North America, not in the UK as only the North American release date has been confirmed for Swift's concert film. The Exorcist: Believer stars Leslie Odom Jr, Ann Dowd, Jennifer Nettles, Lidya Jewett, Olivia Marcum, Okwui Okpokwasili and Raphael Sbarge. Fans of the original film will also be excited to learn that Ellen Burstyn reprises her role as Chris MacNeil from the original film. The Exorcist: Believer is out in cinemas on October 6 in North America, and October 13 in the UK, while Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert film is out on October 13 in North America, dates for other countries have not yet been announced. Elsewhere, Taylor Swift referenced a popular fan phrase to promote new movie. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Have your say in our news democracy. Referee in viral Mark Zuckerberg jui-jitsu 'argument' video confirms what happened
Referee in viral Mark Zuckerberg jui-jitsu 'argument' video confirms what happened
Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg surprised people recently after turning up at a jui-jitsu tournament, with footage appearing to show him looking a little unhappy with the result of his bout. The Meta CEO was spotted taking on a fellow competitor in Redwood City in California on Saturday (May 6), and he was eventually pinned after a tussle in the ring. The referee stopped the fight and awarded it to his opponent after believing that Zuckerberg had 'tapped out'. However, the footage suggested Zuckerberg was unhappy with the result and it was changed to a 0-0 draw. Sign up to our new free Indy100 weekly newsletter He did well during the result of the tournament, with the 38-year-old winning gold and silver medals at his first public competition. Now, the referee from the event has spoken and clarified that there was no such “argument”. Referee Lucas Costa, who is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, spoke to bloodyelbow.com and explained what went down. “There was no argument,” said Costa. “It was in Gi and he got choked out. That was the video you saw. I stopped it and he wanted to check with me about why I stopped it. He didn’t know what was happening, which was one of the reasons I stopped it. But he had started to snore and the rule set says that snoring is a version of a verbal tap.” “I was paying a lot of attention,” Costa added. “I was paying even more attention because it was Mark. He got caught in an Ezekiel and I waited, but he didn’t fight back. And I was waiting, but on the third snore I had to stop the fight. He was very polite but he wanted to know how the rules work.” Speaking about the experience of meeting him, Costa said: “Mark’s fight was a surprise… I was impressed though. “He seemed like a normal guy. Looked me in the eye, gave me a firm handshake and an even bigger surprise was that he fights well.” Discussing his fighting style, Costa added: “He goes forward a lot. He attacks more. With very little defence.” Have your say in our news democracy. Click the upvote icon at the top of the page to help raise this article through the indy100 rankings.
