Even while he’s training for his boxing match against YouTuber and musician KSI (real name Olajide “JJ” Olatunji) next month, Tommy Fury has managed to find some time to reportedly get his first “tattoo” – and his choice of design has left social media users baffled. In a lengthy interview with fitness brand MyProtein, the former Love Island contestant is seen laying down on his front while a man with a tattoo gun draws the artwork in between his shoulder blades. He said of the 14 October fight in Manchester: “These guys [Jake Paul and KSI] are not trying to climb the top of the tree and achieve world titles. All these guys are interested in is viewing figures and pay-per-view buys and all sorts of stuff – they are not interested in winning. “When [KSI’s] done and I’ve knocked him out, he’s probably gonna go and release another song, he’s probably gonna go and do another podcast, he’s probably going to, I don’t know, make another YouTube video. “That’s what these guys are, whereas me, fighting’s in my blood, it runs through my veins and for generations at a time, this is all we have done. “KSI is not the man to beat Tommy Fury, just like Jake Paul wasn’t.” Tommy Fury talks KSI fight, Mayweather, and gets a tattoo | Myprotein www.youtube.com Though away from the fighting talk, Fury was apparently getting his first tattoo, despite previously batting away a suggestion from girlfriend Molly-Mae Hague to get matching ones honouring their baby daughter Bambi. “Omg, I’ve been really thinking about getting a little ‘B’ somewhere, but Tommy won’t do it with me because he doesn’t want one and I only want to do it together,” she said during an Instagram Q&A earlier this year. Yet it seems he has now changed his mind, agreeing to get a tattoo of MyProtein’s logo on his back. “It’s not as bad as I thought it was going to be,” he remarked after the procedure was complete. However, social media users aren’t convinced that the tattoo is real, as one YouTube commenter noted the artist was wielding “a tattoo gun that makes no noise”. “Shouldn’t be tattooing you whilst sitting like that as it can distort the lines/rippling in the skin. Should be laying down relaxing the body,” wrote one Instagram user. Another added: “No way is he tattooing with him leaning on his elbows!” “Exactly, especially the way his shoulders are sitting as well,” one user replied. The fight between the two boxing stars takes place on the same night as KSI’s Prime co-founder Logan Paul's bout against mixed martial artist Dillon Danis. Duran Duran guitarist Andy Taylor has revealed that his prostate cancer is “asymptomatic”, after he was previously told he needed “palliative, end-of-life care”. The Northumberland-raised musician, 62, was diagnosed with stage-four prostate cancer in 2018. After he was unable to attend Duran Duran’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last year, his bandmates – singer Simon Le Bon, keyboardist Nick Rhodes, bassist John Taylor and drummer Roger Taylor – read his letter informing them of his diagnosis to the audience at the ceremony in Los Angeles. Following the ceremony, Taylor approached a doctor who told him about a treatment involving radioactive chemicals given intravenously, which would target only cancer cells. In an interview with The Times, Taylor disclosed that he is “radioactive for several days” after receiving the treatment and is unable to sleep in the same room as someone else or use public transport. “I was classified as palliative, end-of-life care ... and now I’m not; I’m asymptomatic,” he told the publication. He called the scientist, who identified and recommended the treatment, Christopher Evans, the “Elon Musk of cancer”. He also said he was touched that Le Bon read out his letter at the Hall of Fame ceremony: “It takes someone with a very special quality from their heart to do that and not drop a word. People don’t realise he’s actually quite a classy guy.” Taylor said two symptoms alerted him that something was wrong: bone pain while jogging, which he almost mistook for arthritis after his years of live performances, and erectile dysfunction, which was masked by Taylor’s use of Viagra. Asked about the prospect of returning to Duran Duran, he also said: “No, I’m not going to rejoin the band ... I would not say no to (part time for) the opportunity, particularly for the fans, but as I keep reminding people, you have to be asked.” In the same interiew, however, Taylor also rubbished a rumour that he “can’t stand” his former bandmate, Nick Rhodes. The Birmingham-formed Duran Duran were one of the biggest acts of the 1980s, with hits including “Rio”, “The Wild Boys”, and the James Bond theme “A View To A Kill”. They released their 15th studio album, Future Past, in 2021and are currently touring North America with special guests Nile Rodgers and Chic, and Bastille. A new misleading image is doing the rounds on social media but, for a change, this one has nothing to do with AI. Instead, this (very real) photo has sparked a swirl of rumours concerning rapper 6ix9ine’s sexuality. The picture shows 6ix9ine (who also goes by Tekashi69), planting a kiss on the cheek of Mexican singer Eduin Caz, from the band GroupoFirme. It went viral after website Pop Tingz shared it to its Twitter account with the caption: “6ix9ine reveals boyfriend.” Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter The tweet racked up more than 7.9 million views and 3,570 likes in less than a day as streams of commentators remarked that they “weren’t surprised” by the revelation. Except that it wasn’t a revelation at all, just proof of the power of a sensationalist headline. In fact, Caz posted the original picture to his Instagram account to mark the release of a new collaboration between Groupo Firme and 6ix9ine. Their track, ‘Y ahora’, is a love song about… a woman. And if you watch the music video, you’ll see the two men getting up-close and personal with a couple of scantily clad ladies. And yet, social media users love to consider themselves masters of hints and easter eggs, so apparently the fact 6ix9ine sports rainbow-coloured braids is enough to suggest he’s a member of the LGBTQ+ community. Others took the opportunity to fuel the rumour that the rapper has indulged in gay porn – under an alias – and that his sex tape was leaked to the internet. However, according to AllHipHop, the actor in said X-rated movie bears merely a passing resemblance to the rapper. Furthermore, the 27-year-old admitted to having a girlfriend on Instagram just three days ago when he posted a gushing birthday tribute to model Ariiela Lalangosta. “HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BESTFRIEND [sic] IN THE WORLD,” he wrote in the caption to a video showing him kissing Lalangosta and showering her with cash. “My girlfriend won’t get mad but we just friends she knows that,” he added.
