'I'm a single mom, I need these jobs': Rachel Bilson is 'baffled' after losing work due to sex comments

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Rachel Bilson recently had a career setback. After openly expressing her honest opinions about the subject of sex, the former 'OC' star disclosed that she faced professional repercussions, losing a job as a result of her remarks.

"It's been an interesting week guys," she said during a recent episode of her 'Broad Ideas' podcast. "This is the first time it's ever happened to me in my professional life that I lost a job this week because of things that were said."

'I'm a single mom. I need these jobs'

She continued, "A job got taken away from me because I was speaking candidly and openly about sex in a humorous way on our friend's podcast. I basically got a job, that I already had, pulled from me because I was speaking openly about sex. In this day and age, I’m baffled. A single mom, a woman, lost a job because they were being candid and honest. The subject was sex."

Amidst the situation, the actress contended that she was deprived of an opportunity to "get a chance to defend herself," stating that her discussion on sex was misconstrued and taken out of context. "I cried," she confessed. "I'm a single mom. I need these jobs, everything counts. I provide a lot for my family, my daughter, and regardless of anything else, it all matters."

'I want to be f**king manhandled'

The controversy began when Bilson said "I like missionary," on the 'Women On Top' podcast, while chatting with hosts Roxy Manning and Tammin Sursok. "I’ve learned that if you want to have an orgasm during sex, you have to be on top," she added. "But missionary is my favorite. I want to be f**king manhandled."

Now, setting the record straight, Bilson noted, "First of all, I said it in a joking manner in the interview, like, 'Yeah, I wanna f**king get manhandled'. Basically, it's like, okay give control or take control in the bedroom, whatever." Expressing her discontent, the 'Hart of Dixie' star openly conveyed her frustration regarding the entire situation. "They said they weren’t comfortable with that [manhandling] headline, and if people keep Googling they’ll see the other things that I’ve commented on, which was orgasms. And I feel like it's discrimination," Bilson added.

'Maybe I would say it differently'

Bilson is still grappling with the repercussions her remark had on her most recent professional undertaking. "I've been floored honestly," she noted, "Everything was set in motion and I lost the job. It sucks." However, she acknowledged that while her manner of expression could have been handled differently, the underlying sentiment behind her statement remains unchanged. "I haven't said anything inappropriate," Rachel continued. "Choice of language, if I could go back, now knowing I lost a job, maybe I would say it differently. But I still wouldn't not say it."
