Inside Percy Hynes White's family life as 'Wednesday' star is booted off show

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Thomas Hynes and Sherry White's son, Percy Hynes White, who gained fame for playing Xavier Thorpe on Netflix's 'Wednesday', has reportedly been dropped from the show after anonymous sex assault claims appeared online.

Prior to the claims, Hynes White was a rising star after bagging prominent roles in 'The Twilight Zone' and 'The Gifted'.

Thomas is best recognized for his work as a novelist, actor and director.

He is the author of several well-known books including 'We'll All Be Burnt In Our Bed Some Night', 'The Devil You Don't Know', 'Say Nothing Saw Wood', and 'Down to the Dirt'.

The 47-year-old has been performing in front of the camera since 2001.

'ReGenesis', 'Crackie', 'Relative Happiness', 'The Republic of Doyle', 'Someone Knows My Name', 'Orphan Black', 'Frontier' and 'Wildhood' are just a handful of the shows in which he has appeared.

His most recent role was in the drama 'A Small Fortune', which also stars Andrea Bang, Liane Balaban and Stephen Oates.

Sherry White is well-known for her work as a producer and writer for the TV shows 'MVP', 'Rookie Blue' and 'Saving Hope'.

It is said that she and Thomas first crossed paths while she was working as director on the film 'Crackie', as per Daily Express.

What are the allegations against Peter Hynes White?

Hynes White has been written out of the 'Wednesday', insiders told the Daily Mail, nine months after being accused of assaulting a woman at a party in Toronto.

The news was confirmed by sources close to the actor's family, who share their time between residences in Toronto and Newfoundland.

The allegations against Hynes White were first made public in a now-deleted Tweet published by an unidentified social media user on January 18.

The user claimed the actor sexually attacked her at a party he hosted and that he planned the event to get women inebriated enough to have sex with him.

Sources said, "Percy is a wonderful young man, that's the truth. He never took part in any of the false claims again him, which were on Twitter and never followed up or substantiated."

"Percy is respectful, gracious, talented actor, a true professional. He's unfailingly polite to all, including the crew and his fans, most of whom are loyal to him as it should be," sources added.

They further stated, "For Netflix to drop him from the show is a disgrace. It was just false rumors. It's just not right."

How did Percy Hynes White's family react to the rumors?

Netflix reportedly asserted that no casting decisions had been taken as a result of the ongoing SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes in Hollywood.

Hynes White and his parents have refuted the said allegations. In an Instagram post from June, Hynes White called the campaign a "campaign of misinformation."

He stated, "Earlier this year, somebody I've never met started a campaign of misinformation about me online."

He continued, "Because of this, my family has been doxxed, and my friends have received death threats. Underage photos of me were used, and examples of me acting in character were presented as hateful."

He added, "My friend Jane was falsely portrayed as a victim, and her attempts to set the record straight have been ignored. She gave me permission to include her in this message."

He went on, "The rumors are false. I can't accept the portrayal of me as someone bigoted, or criminally negligent of people's safety."

"These are the kind of baseless, harmful claims that can create mistrust toward victims. It's very distressing to know that this misinformation has upset people," he said.

He concluded with, "I'm really thankful for everyone who's stood by me and helped share the facts. Harassment of my family, friends and coworkers needs to stop please. Thank you for taking the time to read this."

Thomas has posted in support of his son and has called him "wrongly accused."

Thomas stated, "I used to quite blindly subscribe to the old adage that where there's smoke there must be fire."

He continued, "But if these past few months have made anything absolutely clear, it's that where there's smoke (even if there's a whole lot of it) sometimes that's all it is – smoke."

He added, "This anonymous online hatred, it's powerful stuff. But what truly empowers these types of campaigns is the culture of fear and silence that prevents ANYONE from speaking up for the wrongly accused – lest the mob should turn their beady eyes on you and yours."

"If publicly offering my support for my kind and gentle, massively talented son equates to me throwing myself to the wolves – so be it, come what may," Thomas continued.

"Really, who cares? What's a life for? I've been around for a long time and I'm planning to stick around for a good while yet," Thomas added.

Thomas further stated, "Malcom X once famously stated 'I'm for truth, no matter who tells it. I'm for justice, no matter who it's for or against."

He added, "When all this SMOKE clears (and it eventually must), I'll still be here, standing beside my son and holding firm to the one adage worth safeguarding – that truth is perpetually moving toward the light. So come on, let there be light."
