Is Drake Milligan returning with 'AGT: All-Stars'? Simon Cowell hints at country singer's comeback with NBC show's spinoff

PASADENA, CALIFORNIA: Drake Milligan appeared on 'America's Got Talent' on the September 13 episode as a special guest performer. Simon Cowell intimated that he would appear in an 'AGT' spinoff involving past participants, but no concrete information about the same is out yet. Viewers can expect to find out soon whether Drake will be appearing in a spin-off series.

Drake, an alum of 'AGT', returned to the stage for a special performance of his famous song, 'I Got A Problem', an original by him.

Drake was born in Texas and raised in the Fort Worth region. His father owns a scrapyard, while his mother works as a veterinarian, per his interview with Sounds Like Nashville. In 2017, he starred in the TV series 'Sun Records' as his idol, Elvis Presley, displaying his resemblance and musical abilities.

Drake tried out for 'AGT' Season 17 just before his 24th birthday. He was no stranger to reality programs, having participated in Season 16 of 'American Idol' in 2018 and earning a Golden Ticket.

Simon intimated that an announcement about Drake on 'AGT' is in the pipeline. Drake was on Season 17 of the program and has subsequently recorded songs as an 'AGT' artist.

Simon mentioned on Wednesday, following his guest appearance, that fans may see him again soon. A new season of 'AGT All-Stars' is apparently in the works, and Drake might be one of the contestants.

Fans quickly took to X to share their opinion on the news too. One person wrote, "Simon really wants Drake on #AGT allstars." While another person wrote, "It's great seeing Drake Mulligan again he was great last season." While some felt, "Drake's good. But not as good as he thinks he is. That's exactly the reason he didn't win #AGT last year." A fourth person quipped, "I don't like country but Drake Milligan was easily the least annoying of them."

One user questioned, "Catchy song, but for a family show, should you really be promoting a song that promotes a brand of cigarettes." Another person wrote, "Literally the worst country song I've ever heard. High achievement."

How much is 'AGT' alum Drake Milligan worth?

Drake sang various songs and appeared in a number of TV series and films. He has amassed a net worth of $1.5 million as of July 2023. His major sources of income are his acting and singing talents.

Why did Drake Milligan drop out of 'American Idol'?

It's not uncommon for 'American Idol' contestants to vanish following their audition. Sometimes they participate in Hollywood Week but do not advance to the following round; therefore, they are not featured on Idol. In other circumstances, the show may need to make cuts before Hollywood Week because too many applicants were put through.

Many admirers, though, thought Drake had major promise and were perplexed by his absence. Drake, thankfully, rushed to Instagram to clear things up, admitting that he dropped out of the competition after auditioning.

"Been getting a lot of questions about no longer appearing on American Idol after my audition, just thought I’d let y’all know what’s goin’ on!" he shared. "After my audition, I decided that I wasn’t quite ready for that platform yet and that it would be a better step for me to move to Nashville and focus on my music first!"

Drake went on to explain that his "tough decision" to leave had nothing to do with the audition process.

"Everyone on the show was very kind, and I feel absolutely blessed and gracious to have been a part of it!" he said.

Did 'AGT' alum Drake Milligan get signed?

Drake also auditioned for a recording deal with BBR Music Group while in Nashville. Six months after first rejecting him, the label signed him.
