LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jimmy Kimmel, the host of a popular late-night talk show, has humorously countered a demand for an apology from the Trump Media Group.

His witty retort, "I am deeply sorry you are so bad at running companies," has rapidly spread across social media platforms.

Previously, the Trump Media Group had sought an apology from Kimmel, accusing him of spreading false information about their organization. However, Kimmel, renowned for his sharp humor and quick wit, cleverly flipped the situation with his amusing response.

Jimmy Kimmel about Truth Social

Previously Jimmy Kimmel expressed amusement over the financial downfall of Donald Trump's social media platform, Truth Social, often referred to as a Twitter clone.

Kimmel humorously remarked that due to the significant financial losses incurred by Truth Social, it might soon earn the moniker "Twitter". This comment served as a playful jab at both Trump and Elon Musk.

"According to a new disclosure from a company Truth Social is trying to merge with, Trump’s imaginary social media platform Truth Social has lost $73 million dollars since it launched," Kimmel stated.

He added, "Which means it is Donald Trump’s number one most successful company yet. They say that Truth Social has lost so much money, they might have to start calling it 'Twitter.'"

Trump Media Group's apology demand

Donald Trump has expressed his displeasure with Jimmy Kimmel and has called for an apology from the late-night host for a comment made on a November 14 segment of Jimmy Kimmel Live!

On the November 16 episode of his show, Kimmel disclosed that he had received a letter from the Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG), the entity responsible for Trump's social media platform, Truth Social. The letter requested the host to retract the statement he had made about the platform on his show earlier that week.

A part of the letter read, "We demand that ABC News publish a mutually agreeable apology in print on your website and on all its social media accounts unless these steps are taken immediately tmtg will take Swift legal action to uphold its rights and reputation."

Jimmy Kimmel's response to Trump Media Group's apology demand

Jimmy Kimmel responded defiantly to Donald Trump and his team, who are behind the former president’s struggling social media venture, after receiving a legal warning from the company regarding his jokes.

"He actually sees this stuff. He’s obsessed with himself and with what people say about him," Kimmel stated. "And because of that, we have somehow found ourselves once again in the wisp-thin crosshairs of our crazy ex-president and his compatriots."

The host emphasized their commitment to presenting accurate information, stating, "We're pretty rigorous when it comes to fact-checking."

On the day the episode aired, multiple credible outlets had widely reported that Truth Social had incurred a loss of $73 million, he added. However, according to the company’s filing with the SEC, Truth Social’s loss stood at $31.6 million.

"In fairness, Truth Social isn’t a colossal failure. It’s only an abysmal failure,” Kimmel went on.

"I would like to do the right thing and congratulate our balloon-animal former president and his company on only losing $31.6 million. For you, that’s pretty good. That’s one of your best performances yet."

Indeed, he extended a sincere apology. "I'm deeply sorry you're so bad at running companies," Kimmel stated.
