LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Mark Ruffalo has joined the growing list of celebrities facing criticism for their comments on the conflict between Hamas and Israel.

Ever since the Palestinian militant group Hamas attacked Israel on Saturday, October 7, Hollywood celebrities, including Kylie Jenner and Jamie Lee Curtis, have come under fire for posting their comments about the horrifying conflict.

While Jenner and Curtis have been slammed for “textbook performative activism,” the 'Hulk' actor, Ruffalo has been criticized for not taking a "radical side" in the latest atrocities and

"sitting on the fence" about the ordeal.

On Monday, October 9, keeping the recent developments in mind, Mark Ruffalo took to his social media to pen a long message calling for a “shared humanity” that can dissolute the horror of human subjugation.

He wrote on his profile on X, “Concerning the tragic events unfolding in Israel and Gaza, I am grief-stricken for the unspeakable suffering and loss of life and loved ones.”

Internet slams Mark Ruffalo's post about Israel- Hamas war

While Mark Ruffalo took an apparent neutral stance, the internet wasn't impressed by it and eventually called out the 'Marvel' actor for his "loss of words."

One social media user said, "Odd you have a loss of words when dealing with these two parties, but Russia was evil and unjustified." Someone else castigated, "Yes, this is what we need right now, celebrity word salad."

A social media user asked nobody in particular, "Did you understand that word jumble? I didn’t." "The one time you didn’t radically pick a side. I wonder why?" said someone else.

An angry dissenter commented, "A 500-word essay of nothing…." Another criticized, "It must be exhausting reacting to every event with the emotional maturity of a high school cheerleader while simultaneously saying absolutely nothing at all."

"Mark wants everyone to get along! Must be scared of saying the wrong thing and losing his woke card!" commented another. One even asked, "Chatgpt do this one for you?"

Mark Ruffalo shares journalist Nathan Thrall's note about Israel-Hamas war

However, this wasn't the first instance of the 'Adam Project' star Mark Ruffalo offering comments on the Hamas-Israel conflict.

On October 8, Sunday, he made another post regarding the conflict by referring to journalist Nathan Thrall's quotes.

Ruffalo wrote on his X account, "I received a note today from @NathanThrall, journalist, and author of “A Day In The Life of Abed Salama” that resonated deeply with me."

He explained, "I wanted to share his words as we all watch in horror what is unfolding between the Israeli Government and Hamas today."

Ruffalo then quoted Thrall in his post that read, “It is horrific to see innocent civilians killed and held hostage, and there is no justification for it. We pray for their safety, as we pray for the safety of the innocent people of Gaza who are being bombarded and besieged.”
