UPLAND, CALIFORNIA: 'Dr Pimple Popper' returns with a new episode this week, and it appears to be one that both fans and the doctor will remember. Dr Sandra Lee will face a significant case when she meets patient Paula, who found maggots between her deteriorating toes.

'Dr Pimple Popper' has taken the internet by storm, displaying some of the most disturbing things we can't get enough of. Dr Lee has seen it all, from a granddad living confined "like a hermit" in his house because he's too "embarrassed" by his plum-sized nose to a man who can't wear clothing because of the "itchy hell" of his "crocodile skin." The dermatologist and cosmetic surgeon assists people all around the country with their skin problems, whether it's a "third boob," a ruptured cyst that smells like "death" and looks like "scrambled eggs," or body lumps dripping "butter." On the May 31 episode, Dr Lee faces one of the most grueling cases that has ever been featured on 'Dr Pimple Popper.'

Who is Paula?

Dr Lee's TLC program is a popaholic's dream, as she pops a great variety of lipomas, pimples, and cysts to please the audience, but she also deals with a number of common and completely unusual skin diseases. Patient Paula describes her legs as "spoiled, raw hamburgers" that smell like her "bowels" are leaking. However, she is so acclimatized to the stench that she claims she no longer notices it.

In addition to the odor, she claims they itch "so bad," prompting her to scratch until it bleeds. As she puts it, "I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy."

In addition to the visual issues, Paula's illness causes physical issues, such as difficulty washing and going from one room to another. The patient's ailment began with cellulitis in her leg, but it worsened in August 2022, when she discovered maggots between her toes.

What happened to Paula in 'Dr Pimple Popper'?

Paula's been to numerous physicians over the years, but no one has been able to assist her, so she's hopeful Dr Lee can help her like she's treated so many others, including Ralph, who had a "cyst factory" body.

'Dr Pimple Popper' airs new episodes every Wednesday on TLC at 8 pm ET.
