LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: British pop sensation Ellie Goulding and her art dealer husband Caspar Joplin have decided to take a break in light of rumors of marital difficulties. According to The Daily Mail, Ellie's team had been frantically attempting to keep her problems a secret, claiming that she and Eton-educated Caspar wanted them to stay in the dark for the benefit of their two-year-old son Arthur.
However, after weeks of planning how they would disclose their separation, the pop star's entourage ultimately admitted that they had been "spending time apart" and blamed their "hectic schedules" for the breakdown of their union. The announcement comes nearly four years after the couple's marriage in a lavish ceremony at York Minster in 2019 that was attended by Orlando Bloom, James Blunt, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, Katy Perry, and Beatrice.
No ring on Ellie's finger
Ellie, 33, was not wearing her wedding or engagement rings on Tuesday, 27 June, when she went to the Serpentine Summer Party with Caspar, 31. The pair was captured looking dejected, as per Daily Mail. Caspar continued to party without Ellie after the event at the Chiltern Firehouse in the heart of London. He was spotted there with pals including Tiffany Zabludowicz, the daughter of British-Finnish-Israeli billionaire businessman Poju Zabludowicz and fellow art collector. Ellie was reportedly wearing a ring when the pair was spotted in London at the start of June with their son.
A source stated, "Things have been bad for at least six months now, both parties have been really trying to be happy together for the sake of their son but these things can only take so long before it is untenable." They added, "Ellie's team were insisting that she and Caspar were happy, that any suggestions of them being apart were totally untrue and now this. It has all been very mysterious indeed." "There had been suggestions of troubles and even a full on split for quite some time but they kept insisting everything is was totally fine," the insider continued.
Social media fans observed that the couple was no longer following one another on Instagram earlier this year, but they later re-followed each other. They have reportedly not discussed divorce and, according to a source close to the marriage, neither of them has started a new relationship.

The company's inventory includes wine bottles, jewelry and watches. The art dealer started working at Sotheby's as a Graduate Trainee in September 2014. He received a promotion to CEO of Office and Contemporary Art after working there for a year. He works in corporate strategy and development, with a specialty in contemporary art.
Ellie and Caspar, the son of former Tory MP Michael Jopling, 92 were acquainted in 2017 through mutual friends, including Beatrice and Eugenie. Caspar proposed with a £70,000 (approx $76,500) engagement ring and they got married in the summer of 2019 after a year of living in New York when Caspar graduated from Harvard University.
