'Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts' Ending Explained: Final twist hints at GI Joe and Transformers crossover

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: After two hours of action-packed jingoism to save the universe, Optimus Prime with the help of Maximals and humans, Noah Diaz and Elena Wallace fends off planet-eater Unicron from destroying Earth in 'Transformers: Rise of the Beasts'. For as long as he was on screen, Prime only cared about returning to Cybertron, but towards the end, the motto of “Till all are one" propelled Prime, Optimus Primal, and the human counterpart, Noah to defeat Unicron. There was collateral damage, slow-motion antics, and most importantly, a happy absence of American patriotism mixed with the message of saving humanity. All this catapulted into a Transformers movie solely focused on the alien robots.

Unicron is eventually defeated. However, he leaves a lot of devastation in his wake but he unites the Autobots, the Maximals, and the humans like never before. The trio believes that Unicron will be back somehow to seek revenge despite the destruction of the Transwarp key. The threat still lingers on but life continues for Noah Diaz who helped the Autobots destroy the Transwarp key and save the planet. Bumblebee is alive, Mirage too after brutally getting injured in the final battle but the biggest revelation came through Noah’s POV whose next job may decide the fate of Hasbro Comic’s two franchises - 'Transformers' and 'GI Joe.'

‘Rise of Beasts’ acknowledges the presence of ‘GI Joe’

Noah interviews for a job after saving the world only to find that the man interviewing him is Agent Burke who knows all about his world-saving antics in Peru. Many fans would have thought that Burke worked for Sector Seven but he reveals that he works for a special force that deals with eliminating extinction-level threats. The name of this force is ‘GI Joe' which is revealed when Burke hands Noah a card at the end. This major twist can merge Transformers and ‘GI Joe’, Hasbro’s two biggest storylines, and bring them together under one film.

Noah, an ex-military man now has experience working on world-saving missions which will only come in handy for the ‘GI Joe’s' force. The alliance of the Autobots and GI Joe might be required to end the threat of Unicron once and for all. Although, Burke doesn’t reveal the kind of war that the 'GI Joe’s' force is fighting at the moment but insists Noah take up the role. The ending of ‘Rise of the Beasts' is nothing but a noble attempt to revive the ‘GI Joe’s franchise.

Mirage is alive and kicking while Unicron will return to revenge

Mirage was almost on the verge of death while having Noah from Unicron’s henchmen, Scourge. He managed to survive by transforming his body into an exosuit for Noah and later, in the mid-credit scene, Noah repairs Mirage’s features. The bond between the duo only grows stronger and will be useful in fighting the returning threat of Unicron who may have been avoided but not defeated. Unicron may have lost the key to open a portal through spacetime but the planet-eater who stems from the fabric of The One, will find a way to return and kill the Autobots. The next part will surely see a Transformers and GI Joe crossover facing the wrath of Unicron and his pawns.
