LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ashton Kutcher is known for many things, including his boy next door charm and starring roles in several movies and TV series. He is also renowned for his role as a caring and devoted parent. In addition to his two children with his current wife, Mila Kunis, he has embraced the role of a loving stepfather to Demi Moore's three daughters with Bruce Willis, namely Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah Willis.
However, recently during an episode of Fox’s ‘Stars on Mars’, Tallulah revealed that it was “really hard” and her mother’s relationship with Kutcher threw her "into a total dumpster fire.” According to Daily Mail, even Rumer once said that she was “so angry” at Kutcher for taking their mother away. She said during the time, “So much of that time, especially with Ashton, I was so angry because I felt like something that was mine, had been taken away,” before adding, “When she wanted to have another baby, it was like, and then it wasn't happening, and then there was so much focus on that, it was like, 'Oh, well we're not enough.'”
While Kutcher’s step-daughters may have not-so-favorable views of their time together, ‘What Happens in Vegas’ star has always maintained that he will always “love” the trio. After taking the responsibility of the three Willis daughters when he was in his mid-20s, a bond was formed between them which he cherished always.
‘I'm never going to stop loving them’
In 2020, the ‘No Strings Attached’ star revealed in Marc Maron’s ‘WTF’ podcast, that he helped Moore with raising her three adolescent daughters and he can never stop loving them. “It was eight years,” Kutcher said, before adding, “Tallulah was eight or nine, she was the youngest. Rumer was 12 or 13 when we first started dating. When we were getting divorced, Tallulah was graduating high school.”
The ‘Jobs’ star reminisced, “I was helping raise teenage girls through their adolescence. I love them. I'm never going to stop loving them and respecting them and honoring them and rooting for them to be successful in whatever they are pursuing.” However, the ‘Just Married’ star further added that while he will always root for their successes, he has not forced them to keep in contact with him he very well knows he is “not their father.” He elaborated, “I think you try … but at the same time I am not their father.” He also acknowledged that he had no intention of usurping their father’s place too as he has always respected Bruce Willis.
Kutcher added, “I was never trying to be their father. I always had respect and honored Bruce [Willis], and I think he's a brilliant human being and a wonderful man.” The hopeful stepfather sounded happy as he said, the three Willis daughters indeed want to keep in touch with them and that’s make him happy, as he said, “If they don't want an engagement with me, I'm not going to force it upon them. But they all do and it's great.”
‘I love kids’
In an interview with Esquire in January 2023, Kutcher talked in detail about his love for children. He also said he didn’t mind getting married to a mother-of-three who was fifteen years his senior because of the children. When Moore was out of town for filming, he would often work as the stay-at-home step dad to take care of the three children. ‘That ’70s Show’ star was found saying, "I was 26, bearing the responsibility of an 8-year-old, a 10-year-old, and a 12-year-old." He added, "That's how some teen parents must experience their twenties."
‘The Ranch’ star boldly declared, "I love kids," before noting, "I wouldn't have gotten married to a woman that had three kids if I didn't love kids." However, he too had to go through a dark phase of life when Moore miscarried in 2003, "The idea of having another kid would have been incredible," before adding, "For whatever reason, I had to have that experience."
