When will new episodes of 'The View' air? Fans say hosts 'take a lot of time off' as show goes on sudden hiatus

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: 'The View' fans were shocked when the talk show once again went on a sudden and unannounced hiatus. ABC aired old episodes of the show on Monday, July 3, disappointing fans.

Fans seem unhappy that the talk show is interrupted several times a year and that they have to watch old episodes. This comes amid constant complaints about how difficult it has become to watch the show at all because of all the drama the hosts put on.

When will 'The View' return to the normal schedule?

'The View' hosts have decided to take the entire week of July 4 off. The show will air reruns of older episodes recently seen on TV through next Monday, July 10. The break began with Friday's episode on June 30, when ABC aired an episode from May.

This was not officially announced, and viewers could only see the strange appearance of the older episodes with a disclaimer stating that it was an 'encore presentation." It was later confirmed by 1iota that the show only had tickets available for the audience on set from July 10. This revealed that the presenters would not be back on set until next week.

In the subreddit dedicated to 'The View,' fans have expressed their unhappiness over the talk show once again going on a hiatus. The channel recently started a discussion on the hiatus with the poster sharing, "Is it just me, or do the ladies take a little too much time off? Easter, Summer, Fall, Winter breaks all amounts to at least a month by the looks of things (but it’s likely more…). And Whoopi gets paid $8 million a year just for yelling into the camera to boot…."

Another Reddit user listed the number of vacations taken by the hosts throughout the year revealing, "Yes, it’s definitely more than a month." The list is as follows: 1 week after Easter, 1 week for 4th July, 1 day last Friday, I assume to beat the July 4th travel rush, 4 weeks in the summer, 1 week for Thanksgiving, 2 weeks in December." A fan defended the hosts saying that the hiatus was absolutely valid. "It’s pretty normal for shows to have hiatuses, especially in the summer when kids are out of school and people aren’t watching as much TV," they said, "And it’s hard enough to do a show once a week, I can’t imagine how hard the crew and cast work to get that show on their air live almost every day. They deserve a break."

Some fans had issues with the show along with the hiatus and shared, "They're all rich prima donnas, what do you expect? Notice how the women only talk about culture war issues and not working-class issues." Fans also have issues with pre-recording as another fan said, "It definitely feels like they take a lot of time off AND Friday's shows are not even live! They are filmed the day before after Thursday's show."

One user mentioned how the vacation days differed in Western countries, saying, "Noted that the US has the shortest paid vacation of most first world countries. 20+ days is the EU standard/minimum. We are behind in those kinds of worker perks…and it’s been shown that more time off actually helps productivity (not surprising). Here if you get 10 paid workdays off, you’re doing well. Many EU countries also provide extensive sick leave benefits…including covering people who require extended leave due to serious illnesses. No need there for fellow employees to donate their leave to those who need more than 5-10 days to recover."
