WHEAT RIDGE, COLORADO: Paige Spiranac, a prominent figure in the realm of golf influencers, commands a substantial following numbering in the millions across various social media platforms.

She consistently imparts valuable golf advice while adhering to the sport's established norms,. She is also renowned for her advocacy for increased participation in golf.

In a recent Twitter video, Paige Spiranac staunchly championed allowing golfers to wear shorts during PGA tour events.

She cited an incident involving professional golfer Lucas Glover's memorable victory in the 2023 FedEx Cup, during which he faced a challenge with "swamp a**."

Lucas Glover skillfully sunk three significant putts to remain competitive in a playoff against Patrick Cantlay at the FedEx St Jude Championship in Memphis, before ultimately clinching victory. This marks Glover's sixth triumph on the PGA tour.

Paige Spiranac’s take on wearing shorts

In a recent Twitter video, Spiranace expressed her persistent support for a rule change, particularly driven by her own experiences with revealing golf attire during matches.

She passionately advocated for the inclusion of shorts in the sport and directed her frustration toward those who uphold tradition as a rationale to allow only pants.

"The men on the PGA Tour should absolutely be able to wear shorts and the rule needs to change right now. Lucas Glover won for the second week in a row in a hot and humid Memphis," she said.

Spiranace drew attention to Glover's perspiration predicament, humorously referred to as "swamp ass."

"He also won for the worst documented case of swamp a-- that we have ever seen. The guys were absoulutely dying. They were even sticking their hands in the ice coolers to bring their body temperature down. It is 2023, get it together, give the guys an option to wear shorts," she pleaded.

"He also dunked his hands in the ice cold water as long as possible to keep them from sweating ahead of the winning putt," Spiranac claimed.

Continuing her commentary, Spiranace openly criticized those who argue that professional golfers themselves would reject the idea of shorts due to entrenched "tradition."

"And I know what a couple of you are saying out there, 'Well, it's tradition and they want to look like professionals.' You're saying that in the air conditioning on your nice, cool couch, drinking an ice cold beer."

Paige Spiranac's words elicit praise: 'You nailed it'

Fans were with the golf star on the issue. One of them said, "Shorts won't keep your butt from sweating. It's called high heat, high humidity."

Another wrote, "Shorts for sure. I play in shorts. Does it help my game? Uhh no. But on a hot humid day it is far more comfortable."

A third noted, "Glover looked like he was on the verge of collapse. He had salt caked on his face and neck. I have no problems with shorts as an option."

Someone else wrote, "For it. Plus - Your science has proven that less clothes = lower scores. So. It’s proven to help." Another said, "Again, you nailed it, Paige!! 😀"
