Is Monica Garcia's mom on 'RHOSLC' for attention? Speculations arise after Linda slams her daughter

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH: 'Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City' Season 4 star Monica Garcia and her mother Linda have had a rocky relationship that came to a head on a recent episode of the show.

During a Greek Easter celebration at Angie Katsanevas' house, the reality star leveled multiple accusations against her mother.

However, Monica's mother recently took to her X (formerly Twitter) account and slammed her daughter.

She said, "Monica begged me to do this reality show with her. Begged. I didn't want to do it. She told me all I had to do was cook and speak Portuguese. How did she return the favor? She did me dirty."

She continued, "Meanwhile, I would never compete with my only child - unless it's sports. I'm too smart to try to go up against Monica, she'd chew me up and spit me out."

She further noted, "Lastly, I never abandoned her. I always put her needs above my own, even in her adulthood. I'm not a perfect human but I *am* a devoted mother and Vóvó. God bless us everyone."

However, multiple social media users accused Linda of being on 'RHOSLC' just for attention. A social media user questioned, "Why is she on social media if she didn’t want to be known?

An Instagram user wrote, "Perfect example of lowering yourself, dear Vóvó. You should have just kept quiet and let your daughter battle the battles she's busy facing. This screams attention seeking."

Another person added, "She seemed eager to be on the show to prove she was a decent mom. I know that kind of mom she is. Behind doors all different. In front of the world and people whole different person. Dr Jeckel Mr Hyde syndrome."

While one user said, "To speak out against your daughter on social media is a bit iffy," another said, "You’d never go against her but umm… have you read your own post. Woman - please."

Monica Garcia wishes she had a 'different mom'

In the previous episode of 'RHOSLC' Season 4, Monica Garcia felt betrayed by her mother Linda, who seemed to side with the other women instead of supporting her daughter. Monica also revealed that she regretted saying in a confessional that she sometimes wished she had a different mom.

She explained, "I promised myself when I started this journey that I would be a hundred percent open, and my relationship with my mother has never been great. It is very up, down, up, down, up, down all the time. And that was real."

She further admitted, "I have spent a lot of time throughout my life wishing I had a mother that just would always support me, have my back, that I could trust, that I could count on. And I’m sure she has times where she wishes she had a different daughter."

The reality star also noted that her relationship with her mom is more like a sisterhood than a mother-daughter bond. She claimed, "I think that’s the problem in our relationship is that there’s not a mother-daughter relationship. It’s like a sister relationship."

Are Monica Garcia and her mother Linda on good terms?

RHOSLC' Season 4 newbie Monica Garcia reflected on her relationship with her mother Linda, in a recent interview with US Weekly. Monica admitted that the mother-daughter duo are not on good terms, especially after their fight at Angie's house.

Monica addressed the heated argument, which started when Linda interrupted a conversation between Monica and Angie and shared with the outlet, "I cried my eyes out when I watched it for the first time."

Monica added that the scene was one of the most emotional moments she has ever seen on Housewives. She added, "It was so real and so raw. It was a very heavy day."
