Aerosmith's Peace Out farewell tour rescheduled days after kick-off in Philadelphia as Steven Tyler suffers vocal cord damage

PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA: Iconic rock band Aerosmith had to postpone six performances of their farewell Peace Out Tour because frontman Steven Tyler sustained vocal cord damage during a performance over the weekend, extending the goodbye period for fans in six cities.

The 'Dream On' singer, 75, said in a statement, "I’m heartbroken to say I have received strict doctor’s orders not to sing for the next thirty days. I sustained vocal cord damage during Saturday’s show that led to subsequent bleeding. We’ll need to postpone a few dates so that we can come back and give you the performance you deserve."

During the band's recent performance in Philadelphia, Tyler joined the original members Brad Whitford, Tom Hamilton, and Joe Perry. Joey Kramer was replaced behind the kit by John Douglas, the original drummer.

Aerosmith put Las Vegas residency on hold in May 2022

Tyler underwent a treatment program for relapse after having foot surgery to get ready for the band's comeback in May 2022, forcing the band to put the Las Vegas residency on hold, as per People magazine.

The hit-filled set selection performed by The Bad Boys from Boston includes songs like 'Love in an Elevator', 'Janie's Got a Gun', 'I Don't Want to Miss a Thing', 'Sweet Emotion', and 'Walk This Way'. They also performed a cover of Fleetwood Mac's 'Stop Messin' Around'.

In September 2022, Aerosmith performed more gigs in Las Vegas but plans to perform in December 2022 were scrapped because of Tyler's health.
