'The View' host Joy Behar labeled 'delusional' after she advises men to 'zip it' if they 'wanna have sex again'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: After Bebe Rexha shared details of a private text with her ex-boyfriend Keyan Safyari, ‘The View’ hosts gave their thoughts on it on the ‘Hot Topics’ segment of the show. A frustrated Whoopi Goldberg announced the topic before giving her co-hosts a chance to speak, while Joy Behar had a lot to say, along with giving some advice to the men out there.

Behar’s advice over the Rexha issue struck a chord with the internet as viewers took to social media to vocalize their thoughts against ‘The View’ co-host. Viewers also took the opportunity to single out Behar and agreed with Alyssa Farah Griffin, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, and Goldberg.

‘Don’t do it to women’

An unamused Goldberg read out the ‘Hot Topic’ to her co-hosts, “Bebe Rexha has apparently broken up with her boyfriend after she shared a message he sent her. She posted it on Instagram and in the message he tries to explain why he commented on her weight. He says she asked…my question is why did we need to know it? Why does everyone post about their private business with their private person…what is the deal…why do I need to know?” Hostin and Haines were quick to chime in as they agreed with Goldberg and also spoke about how Safyari was respectful in his text to Rexha.

Behar, however, didn’t seem to be on the same page as her co-hosts. She said, “There’s another issue, I mean he mentioned in the text that she would apparently call him chubs and fat when he gained three pounds. It’s one thing to call out a guy on his looks but don’t do it to women. I’m warning all of you. It’s a big mistake to say you look fat, I don’t like the dress…whatever you’re commenting about women, keep quiet. If you want to have sex again, zip it.” There was some scattered applause from the audience as very few people agreed with Behar.

Behar further explained, “Because we are at the mercy of magazines, of constant criticism about how we look, about we’re getting fat, we’re getting old, we’re sick of the whole thing! Men do not have the same problem; those love handles could be on the floor and they love it. They don’t care the way women do.”

After Behar’s statement, the co-hosts responded to her for less than a minute before shifting to the hot topic in hand -- Rexha and the text. The co-hosts might have moved on from Behar, but the viewers haven’t.

‘She’s so delusional’

After ‘The View’ released a clip of the conversation between the co-hosts about Rexha and her ex-boyfriend, the internet remained focused on the comments made by Behar. One viewer commented, “Joy is perpetuating this terrible notion that men don’t have feelings and don’t have any weight insecurities/difficulties.” Another person quoted one specific statement made by Behar and said, ““It’s one thing to call out a guy for his looks, but don’t do it to women.” What a stupid hypocritical and ignorant comment to make, she’s so delusional.”

Viewers even picked up particular time stamps on the video as one said, “1:38 I strongly disagree with Joy here. Those comments can be hurtful to hear regardless of whether you're a man or a woman. It's seriously damaging to imply one gender is more susceptible to criticism than the other. Why do many young men spend so many hours in the gym building muscle? They feel pressure from society to look a certain way too.”

People, who are ardent followers of ‘The View’, have also singled out Behar as one fan wrote, “I’m with the entire panel on this except for Joy.” Everyone continues to remain shocked with Behar as one wrote, “Wow, Joy really said it's OK to call men fat but not women.” One fan summed up the feeling that has resonated amongst everyone in the comments section as they wrote, “Joy and her double standards.”
