'This is a too-frequent occurrence': 'The View' fans furious as ABC show airs pre-recorded episode

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'The View' has faced significant speculation regarding the broadcast of 'previously recorded' segments, particularly on Fridays when Whoopi Goldberg is absent. Recently, the talk show caused frustration among its fans by airing yet another recorded episode at the start of the week.

On Monday, June 19 ‘The View’ broadcast, the show has come under fire after airing pre-taped episodes frequently. This temporary change has left fans furious as they believe it has become a ‘too frequent occurrence’ and are extremely disappointed with this change. Usually ‘The View’ episodes are live, however, the recently aired episode was previously recorded for some reason. ‘The View’ airs previously recorded episodes every Friday and considering it again happened, not to mention on Monday is something that fans didn’t take lightly.

Why is ‘The View’ airing pre-taped episodes?

During a recent episode, ‘The View’ hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, and Alyssa Farah Griffin came out from behind the stage and waved at the audience. While they sat down, the camera looked over Goldberg and the words ‘Previously Recorded’ appeared on the screen. However, the moderator announced the date as the current day, and the backdrop indicated a celebration of Juneteenth, which is traditionally observed on the 19th of June. Considering that Juneteenth is a federal holiday, it is possible that the ladies hosting the show had the day off but still wanted to air an episode to acknowledge and emphasize the significance of the day. ‘The View’ has had previously recorded on Friday, June 16 as well and few other days last week. Apparently, Thursday’s episode was live given the hosts celebrated Griffin’s birthday. The reason behind the pre-taped has not been confirmed by the show, but it’s assumed it could be because of the writer’s strike. Also, it is not yet known if the show will be live on Tuesday’s broadcast.

‘Too frequent occurrence’

‘The View’ fans took to Twitter to express their annoyance over the show’s almost-turned-habit of airing pre-taped episodes. One Twitter fan wrote, “Is this a prerecorded #theView for #Juneteenth2023?”, as another added, “It was "TAPED" Tuesday afternoon!!!! #TheView #We_TheCrew." One more user wrote, “Awww, pre-recorded episode!” as another exclaimed in anger, “ANOTHER previously recorded episode of #TheView! 🤬🤬🤬This is becoming a too-frequent occurrence."

Fans are getting wrapped up about ‘The View’ recurring event as another fan pointed at the show being pre-taped, “Also on today's PRERECORDED #JuneteenthDay show! FOOD! Today's cook is from Harlem, New York! Her name is @melbasharlem! #TheView #We_TheCrew," and one more said, “Now since today is a TAPED show, they may ask @KekePalmer about her Twitter rant on #ClairHuxtable from #TheCosbyShow. #TheView #We_TheCrew."
