LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Late singer Jimmy Buffet’s may have passed away, but some of his work is yet to come! The beach-rocker’s last album 'Equal Strain on All Parts' will be out soon.

The 76-year-old died on September 1, from Merkel Cell Skin Cancer. His obituary was posted to his website, informing that he died at his home in Sag Harbor, New York.

“The beloved singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett passed away at his home in Sag Harbor, Long Island on Friday, September 1, 2023, surrounded by family and friends. Buffett, 76, had been fighting Merkel Cell Skin Cancer for four years,” it began.

“He continued to perform during treatment, playing his last show, a surprise appearance in Rhode Island, in early July.”

“Buffett is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jane (Slagsvol) Buffett, his daughters Savannah Jane (Joshua) and Sarah Delaney, his son Cameron Marley (Lara), his grandson Marley Ray and devoted pack of dogs Lola, Kingston, Pepper, Rosie, Ajax and Kody. “

The album will have songs like ‘Bubbles Up’ and ‘Like My Dog’; ‘My Gummie Just Kicked In’ features Paul McCartney on bass.

In this album, the songs will include collaborations with Preservation Jazz Hall Band, Angelique Kidjo, Lennie Gallant, Will Kimbrough and Emmylou Harris.

Inspired by Buffett's grandfather's description of a nap, ‘Equal Strain on All Parts’ is set for a November 3 release via Mailboat Records and Sun Records, as per People.

"It is a privilege to welcome Jimmy Buffett among the legends who have released their music through Sun Records," said Dominic Pandiscia, Primary Wave/Sun Label Group's chief strategy officer in a press release.

He added, "Jimmy's music truly stands for something – as does the Sun Records legacy – and having this album join that lineage is a special moment that honors his enduring impact."

Meanwhile, McCartney said, "I was very happy to have played on one of his latest songs called ‘My Gummy Just Kicked In’. We had a real fun session and he played me some of his new songs."
