Sean O’Malley's unforgettable post-bout chat with Joe Rogan resurfaces ahead of UFC 292, fans say 'they gonna bromance after win'

AUSTIN, TEXAS: Sean O’Malley delivered a truly memorable post-fight interview during UFC 222, and this remarkable moment has resurfaced as UFC 292 approaches.

What makes this interview even more noteworthy is that O'Malley conducted it while lying on the canvas. Conducting this interview was none other than the acclaimed UFC commentator and podcaster, Joe Rogan.

Before this, Rogan and O'Malley had encountered each other on the highly popular Joe Rogan Experience podcast.

In these interactions, O'Malley openly shared his deep respect for Rogan's ability to effortlessly engage in spontaneous and captivating discussions on the podcast.

O'Malley gives interview to Joe Rogan with a broken foot

In the bantamweight bout of UFC 222, O'Malley seemed to be heading towards victory until he appeared to suffer a broken foot in the third round. Despite the injury, O’Malley remarkably endured until the final bell.

Lying on the mat, surrounded by doctors, O'Malley heard the announcement about the unanimous decision to crown him the winner from Bruce Buffer.

Despite his obvious discomfort, the now-28-year-old raised his hands in celebration and engaged in conversation with UFC legend Rogan, who knelt for the post-fight chat.

Rogan began by extending congratulations and inquired about the details of O'Malley's foot injury. O'Malley responded that the inside of his foot was affected, rendering it numb and almost unsteady.

O'Malley said, "On the inside of it I can't feel it went way down I could even step on it."

He attributed the injury to a question mark kick, acknowledging that it was quite painful but could be addressed with medication after his post-fight party.

In response, Rogan conveyed that O'Malley had looked exceptional until the injury. He noted that in the second round, Andre Soukhamthath had opted to take the fight to the ground once O'Malley's leg was hurt.

Rogan said, "You look sensational up until that injury. The first of the second round, Andre Soukhamthath too decided to take that fight to the ground once your leg was hurt. That might have been a blessing in disguise."

Rogan speculated that Soukhamthath's strategy could have inadvertently worked in O'Malley's favor.

O'Malley agreed, stating that he couldn't stand on his injured leg, and he commended Soukhamthath for stepping up against a top prospect.

O'Malley said, "Yeah definitely I could not stand on it. Me and Andre talked a lot of back and forth [during] this fight. Nothing [but] my respect for him stepping up against a top prospect and knocking him out and then taking this fight with me."

He expressed his love for the sport, media, and everything related to it, and even extended his appreciation to Rogan saying "I love this game I love the talk I love the media I love it I love everything about this sport f**king love you Joe Rogan.

In reply, Rogan simply stated, "Well, f**king love you too, buddy."
