NEWARK, NEW JERSEY: The latest incident in a family feud over the 'Coming to America' actor John Amos' health involves his son KC Amos, who is now imprisoned for reportedly sending his daughter, Shannon, threatening texts featuring images of guns.

The documents, acquired by TMZ, state that John's son KC, was arrested last weekend after his sister Shannon said that he had sent her several disturbing texts that had caused her to fear for her safety.

Veteran actor John Amos, 83, has been battling in an ICU for weeks after being assaulted. An investigation is ongoing after his daughter Shannon reported that he had been the victim of elder abuse. In an unexpected turn of events, Amos has accused his daughter of abusing him. This complaint was made just one week after Shannon publicly pleaded for $500k, claiming that her father was being taken advantage of by an unidentified "caregiver."

Who is KC Amos?

According to his IMDb profile, KC is the son of veteran actor John Amos and has a sister Shannon Amos. Kelly Christopher Amos, better known by his stage name KC Amos, is an actor, director, writer, and producer. He had many appearances in 'Star Trek: The Next Generation' as an operations division officer. He was recognized by the call sheets but received little praise for his appearances.

These call sheets also state that KC was supposed to appear in Ten Forward and corridor scenes in the episodes 'Identity Crisis,' 'The Nth Degree,' 'Qpid,' 'The Drumhead,' 'Half a Life,' and 'In Theory' from the fourth season, but he was either substituted or did not show up in the final versions. He was also supposed to work with Ten Forward in the episode 'The Game' from the fifth season, but he didn't show up.

He wrote, produced, and directed the short movie 'Syphon Gun' in 1995, for which he was nominated for the Sundance Film Festival's Honorable Mention for Short Filmmaking and the Ann Arbor Film Festival's Best of the Festival award. He was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1996 for 'Where'd You Hide the Body' in the category of Best Music Video - Long Form.

KC also assisted the director on the science fiction movie 'Demolition Man' (1994), and a year later he graduated with a Master of Fine Arts from the California Institute of the Arts School of Film and Video. He directed various music videos and documentaries over the course of the ensuing years. He collaborated with his father and sister on the independent movie 'The Watermelon Heist' in 2004. Shannon is also a writer and producer.

'Gonna sleep much better tonight big sis'

According to reports, KC was apprehended by authorities last weekend after sending his sister Shannon unsettling text messages. Shannon also alleges that her brother sent a video showcasing his shooting prowess and discussed his alleged connections to gangs in the texts. He posted a video of himself shooting a handgun along with the caption, "Gonna sleep much better tonight big sis."

According to a representative for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office, Shannon claims that her brother suffers from bipolar disorder. She alleges KC's condition made him think she hired someone to kill him, and she is now concerned that he could seek revenge. Concerns about the beloved 'Good Times' actor's health led to the family feud breaking out last month.

Shannon stated in a news statement from last month that her brother no longer has the power to decide their father's medical care. "My priority has always been the safety, stability, and well-being of my father," she stated. KC hasn't responded to the reports of his arrest. However, he thanked those "who stood by our side during the hurricane" in a Sunday Instagram post.
